The family decided to buy an old neighboring house attached to theirs to improve their quality of life. The extension includes a new living room on the ground floor, a parental floor block and social rooms in the basement. The wine cellar is positioned in the preserved cellar of the old house, causing spatial denivelation. The new house unit is L shaped surrounding a spacious, rich and well-groomed garden - the highest value of this location. The building follows the street scale and traditional building elements, but has a contemporary composition of the facade. The openings have a dual character depending on their orientation. On the back side, these are large glass strokes that frame the green garden, while towards the street they becoma horizontal slits that provide intimacy and diffuse light from the south. A roof garden above the garage and a tropical garden with palm trees on the west wing filter the sun, while a large aquarium on the east part enriches the interior with its color, creating a new focal point. The two houses meet genty via a joint of glass and metal.
