A very complex task where a young couple's apartment was to be designed within a previous office space. The apartment is located on the elevated ground floor of an urban villa in the center of town that opens onto its own garden on two side. In the previous configuration, living and dining were small so the focus was on expanding the central space of the apartment. The load bearing concrete core is used as a central space element that is maximally perforated on three sides and acts a dining area. Since this spatial element floats in space, the impression of the size of the residence is not diminished. The use of same material on the floor and ceiling reduced the effect of low space. All other spaces in the apartment are accessible from the central core. The garden access provides light in different times of the day.
